The Effect of Opened Racism on Foreigners

My name is Kanah Heckman. I was born in Liberia, West Africa. Like many young children in my homeland, I grew up in an impoverished family. As a child, I lived through a brutal civil war in Liberia that took many innocent lives. At sixteen, I was blessed with the opportunity to come to America — leaving behind many friends and family members.
